An editor cannot help with the blank part
Grammarly is an editor. It improves words you've already written. FlowIn starts before that.
As you type, FlowIn suggests what comes next. Accept a word or the whole sentence, saving both keystrokes and the effort of finding the right phrasing.
For messages, FlowIn can read the conversation and draft a complete reply before you type anything.
It also edits when you need it. Select any text and FlowIn can make it shorter, clearer, more formal, or translate it, while fixing spelling and grammar along the way.
What FlowIn will not do
It does not underline your mistakes. Grammarly reads over your shoulder and flags what it finds, which is how you catch the typo you did not know was there. FlowIn waits to be asked. If you want a proofreader watching every sentence, keep one.
For now, it only works on Mac. Grammarly works across Windows, the web, and mobile. FlowIn is currently built for Apple Silicon Macs, though support for other platforms may come later.

- Is there a Grammarly alternative for Mac that writes as well as corrects?
- That is the difference. Grammarly needs a sentence before it can help you with it. FlowIn predicts the rest of the sentence while you are typing it, in grey ahead of your cursor, and on a message it will write the entire reply before you have typed a character. Correcting and reshaping what you have written is also there, on the same key.
- Does FlowIn check grammar the way Grammarly does?
- It fixes grammar and spelling, but you ask for it. Select text, pick a rewrite, and the version you get back is corrected as well as reshaped. Grammarly instead underlines mistakes as you type and waits for you to accept each one. If catching errors you had not noticed is the job you want done, that difference matters.
- Does FlowIn work offline?
- Autocomplete does. It can run on a model on your own Mac, so predictions keep coming with the wifi off. Drafting a reply and rewriting text are cloud calls and need a connection.
- Does FlowIn send my writing to a server?
- It depends which feature. With the on-device model selected, autocomplete is processed entirely on your Mac and nothing is transmitted. Rewriting and reply drafting run on a cloud model, so that text is sent, used to produce the answer, and not retained unless you opt in.
- Which apps does it work in?
- Any text field on macOS: Mail, Slack, Messages, Notion, your IDE, and browser fields too. Grammarly is built around the browser and its own editor, which is the usual reason people go looking on a Mac.
